Graham Simpson was born in Aberdeen.
He started school in Edinburgh and then moved to the north of England.
He is a journalist, as well as a councillor.
Graham is married with two daughters. The family live in Stewartfield, East Kilbride.

Local food

Graham helped to organise and judge the inaugural East Kilbride News Young Journalist of the Year Competition.
He said: “I wanted to give something of my experience as a journalist back to our young people.
“I gave a few talks in primary schools.
“The feedback was great and we had hundreds of entries.
“The winner went on an all-expenses paid trip to London to interview GMTV’s Lorraine Kelly.
I accompanied  the winner and her dad. Needless to say, I paid my own way.
