Local resident Willie Chalmers has been selected to fight the East Kilbride Central North ward.

Following his selection, Willie said: "I am delighted to have been selected to stand in East Kilbride Central North. I am very much looking forward to the campaign, and to taking the Conservatives positive message to voters in East Kilbride.

"Local residents recognise that Labour and the SNP have not delivered for them, and more and more are turning to the Conservatives to give them the change they deserve. 

"I will be working hard between now and 3rd May to speak to as many people as possible to discuss their concerns and set out my plans for the next five years."
